Don’t just train harder. Train your mind and fuel your body with intention.

An MLS Cup champion and a US Soccer performance dietitian are giving every competitive soccer player access to what the pros already know.

Three weeks. Built to fuel the body, sharpen the mind, and change who shows up on the pitch.

EXPERTS

THE GAP

Most athletes train hard. Few train complete.

FOR THE ATHLETE

You've felt flat or foggy on game day and couldn't explain it.

You train hard in-season, then watch your habits fall apart when it matters most.

You want an edge that isn't just about putting in more reps.

FOR THE PARENT

You're at every game. But you don't always know how to help after a hard loss — especially on the car ride home.

You've watched your athlete eat, train, and still come up short — and felt helpless.

You want a framework that makes you a resource, not a sideline commentator.

A DEEPER LOOK

What you'll cover, week by week.

Pre-Game Prep

The Mental Side

  • Walk into a game already locked in — not trying to find it during warmups

  • The conversation to have in your head, and the one to stop having

  • Calming nerves without losing the edge that makes you compete

The Fueling Side

  • What to eat the night before, the morning of, and right before kickoff

  • Fueling for one game vs. a tournament with three games in a day

  • What to pack in the soccer bag so you're not relying on the snack bar

Post-Game Recovery + Reflection

The Mental Side

  • How to honestly analyze a game without spiraling

  • What to do in the first 30 minutes after a tough loss

  • The car ride home conversation — for players and parents

The Fueling Side

  • The post-game recovery window: what matters and what's overhyped

  • Sleep as the real recovery tool — and how to protect it

  • Eating to actually rebuild, not just to feel full

Daily Habits & Routines

The Mental Side

  • The habits every pro player has — that almost no youth player is taught

  • Building routines that hold up when things go sideways

  • Showing up the same whether you scored or didn’t make the pitch

The Fueling Side

  • What eating like an athlete looks like on a normal weekday

  • Snacks that fit a real teenager's schedule

  • Sleep, school, and training: building a week that holds up

YOUR COACHES

Led by two experts who work with athletes at every level.

Jay Short, MS, RD, CSSD

Rise Nutrition

Jay is a registered sports dietitian and board-certified specialist in sports dietetics. He has served as performance dietitian for the USMNT and all 27 US Soccer programs, and worked with the Columbus Blue Jackets, Columbus Crew SC, and Ohio State. He builds systems that fit how athletes train, when they compete, and what their schedule actually allows.

Michael Parkhurst

Beyond Goals Mentoring

Michael spent 15 years as a professional soccer player — captaining the Columbus Crew and Atlanta United (leading the team to MLS Cup Championship in 2018), earning 25 caps with the USMNT, and representing the country at the 2008 Olympics. He co-founded BGM because the mental side of player development was the one thing nobody was coaching.

This program is built for you if…

FAQs

Questions? We figured you'd have a few.

  • All sports — but it's built with soccer players in mind. The mental performance and nutrition principles apply across sports; the application worksheets are where players make them specific to their game.

  • Both. Each week's modules are pre-recorded — complete them on your schedule. The live Q&A with Michael and Jay is one hour at the end of each week. Dates confirmed at registration.

  • Each week's parent primer tells parents exactly what their athlete is working on and gives specific, practical ways to support them — not generic encouragement, but things that actually help. Including, yes, what to say on the car ride home.

  • July. Our exact dates will be announced soon. Full schedule confirmed at registration

  • Yes — The Inside Game is fully virtual. Wherever your player trains, you can join.

  • Not a problem. Our live Q+As will be recorded and sent out to anyone who registers and misses a session.

  • This program is designed for anyone but works really well for youth athletes between 8 - 19.

Three weeks. Two experts.

The edge your game has been missing.

Your player is already putting in the work. This is what makes it count.
